PRERNA  SCHOOL

Prerna School

Prerna School was established in the year 2002 as ‘Shreya’ at Bharti Nagar Community Centre. In 2004 its premises were shifted to the Kannada School at the same location. In 2007, in its present avatar, it was rechristened ‘Prerna’ and shifted to the Moti Bagh Boys School.
Prerna was primarily set up by IASOWA for the children of the weaker sections of our society. It has been started for children attending school between classes 1 through 9 and the strength of the students studying at Prerna is between 80 to 100. The School runs for 5 days a week and along with regular studies the children enjoy the facility of wholesome mid day meals. All festivals and national days are celebrated with great fan fare where children are given special meals and gifts.
The School runs on well oiled wheels thanks to the contribution of six teachers who are employed at the school to teach the students, one cook to make the mid day meals and one other staff member. This staff of seven school emoyees is assisted by six IASOWA volunteers who give invaluable service towards its smooth functioning.
